English teacher - Cuba para Cristo (Cuba for Christ)

As part of Latin Link, Cuba para Cristo (CpC) promotes gospel work and supports churches and Cuban missionaries in Cuba, all through long-standing close relationships with Cuban church leaders.

This exciting new opportunity is for a placement from September 2012, initially for 1 year (but with scope for 2 years). The first four months will be based in Brighton, working alongside Carl Chambers (founder of CpC), helping to take the ministry into a new growth phase. Tasks will include establishing good administrative systems, producing fresh publicity and coordinating the strategic promotion and communication of the work with churches and supporters in the UK. The strider would also undertake a TEFL course in preparation for time in Cuba from January 2013.

From January the placement will be based in Cuba, teaching English to pastors who are registered for MA courses in the UK through CpC (pastors need a certain level of English to Study so these classes are urgent). In addition the placement could involve travel around the country visiting MOCLAM (Moore College Correspondence Course) training centres, and possible involvement with Summer Step teams from the UK.
