Café Momento 2012
Café Momento 2012 launches from 1 May and runs through to the end of the year. It’s a really simple way to fundraise!
We provide a pack of goodies including FREE sample packs of Fairtrade Latin American coffee and tea (from our partners Kingdom Coffee) to kick start your event. You gather friends, family or work colleagues to take a break and give donations to Latin Link. It couldn’t be easier. Contact us for a pack.
There’s no set week, so events can be held from 1 May 2012 whenever and wherever it suits you. You may even like to make it a regular, monthly occasion.
- After church – why not ask if you can use the regular tea and coffee slot after church and request donations?
- At the office – fresh coffee in the morning is always a bonus. Offer to make a cuppa for your workmates in return for a donation! Teachers – why not serve up a mid-morning caffeine injection in the staff room?
- Students – get some friends round, and make sure there’s cake.
- Meet your neighbours – when was the last time you caught up with them? Why not use this as an opportunity to reach out?
- At small group – offer a freshly brewed cuppa at the start and use it to chat about mission in Latin America.
- Fancy your coffee with a twist? – Host an evening doing whatever you love – a dance class? A film night? Knitting together? Serve coffee half way through and collect some donations.
- Great Latin Bake Off – ask friends to bring a favourite cake or tray bake to share. You might even like to auction off the final pieces of cake.

Kingdom Coffee invests a percentage of their annual profits via Latin Link into AMI San Lucas – a health and community development project working in Guatemala. The project teaches local people about protecting their environment, preventing pollution and ensuring sustainable coffee production.
Last year’s support from Kingdom Coffee bought 21 stoves and transformed lives for local families by enabling them to reduce wood burning by 60 per cent. This year's support will buy further stoves and water filters. Read more about this partnership here.
