The International Assembly (IA), the quadrennial gathering of Latin Link members from across the world, takes place in Guatemala from 1–7 February 2018.

There will be worship, Bible teaching and devotionals, seminars, workshops, and business sessions, as well as visits to partner projects in Guatemala, some light-hearted sessions and plenty of time for chatting and networking.

Paul says: ‘It’s an absolute privilege to be taking on the leadership of Latin Link at this International Assembly. On behalf of the whole Latin Link community I’d like to thank Alan for his eight years of dedicated service at the helm. I’m excited at everything that God has in store for us as a community this week and beyond.’

The International Forum, which is a group of experienced Latin Link members who oversee the work of the ITL and advise on new teams, will be voted in on the Saturday.

The main sessions are addressing crucial mission issues of the moment, such as:

  • what is the state of mission today and what will it be like tomorrow?
  • sustainable mission, in particular in relation to the global south;
  • the area of suffering, and its challenges within a mission context;
  • new approaches to mission in a fast-moving, ever-changing digital world;
  • migration and how to do mission to, in and with diaspora communities.
