Latin Link's work in Guatemala

Kate Moreno (Guatemala-Mexico Team Leader) is a social worker for girls who have suffered sexual violence. Jacobo Moreno is on a Stride placement at their local church, involved in youth discipleship and worship. Kate and Jacobo are on Sending Country Assignment until January.

PRAY for a good quality time with friends, family and supporters in the UK. They will be looking for new accommodation upon their return to Guatemala, PRAY for God’s provision in this.

Suzanne Potter is responsible for mobilising individuals and churches for mission! As part of this, she responsible for sending mission workers from Guatemala and Mexico, which involves offering support and guidance to candidates and their churches throughout the process.

Please PRAY for Suzanne as she builds relationships with people who feel called to serve God cross-culturally.

Maddie Buchanan has recently taken over the role of Short-Term coordinator (STC). She is now responsible for supporting incoming and outgoing Step and Stride members.

PRAY for Maddie as she prepares to welcome two new Striders in the New Year.

Geoff Baines teaches Bible studies in The Ezra Centre and the Central American Theological Seminary, alongside his wife Cesia.

PRAY for his role coordinating diplomas in the Ezra Centre.

Misha Battle works with Educando Para la Vida, an organisation that enables at-risk children and young people to stay in education.

Due to the recent growth of the project, they have had to move into a larger centre. Please PRAY for the team and young people during this adjustment period.

Rose Wade works with AMI San Lucas, an NGO focusing on integral health and community development in indigenous towns and villages. Rose uses her engineering and youth work skills in a variety of projects. Rose has been facilitating a Youth Diploma, teaching local young people important life skills.

PRAY for the participants as they apply this key learning to their personal situations.

PRAY for an increase in wellbeing and human dignity across the country. Chronic malnutrition, high infant mortality, abuse against women and children, lack of criminal justice, and limited access to education, are all significant issues in Guatemala.

PRAY for the church to recognise its role as Christ’s ambassadors, working to alleviate poverty and advocate against injustice.

PRAY for the migrants that travel through Guatemala, looking for a better life, as they flee from conflicts and gangs in their home countries.

7 PRAY for Katie Rowell, involved in running a nursery for local families in Soacha, Colombia, many of whom are Venezuelan migrants.

9–13 The Angel Tree Centre supports the children of prisoners in Oruro, Bolivia. PRAY for Julie Noble and the volunteers this week, along with the young people, as they gather together for their annual youth camp.

18 In Spain, Jill Spink continues to support men from a local rehab centre. PRAY that their hearts would be open to the good news.

25 Please PRAY for peace and comfort for all Latin Link mission workers who are serving away from their families and friends this Christmas.

29 Ray Miller and Bridget Bennett have set up a new online Master’s degree in Development and Intercultural Studies, which is starting in the New Year. PRAY for the new students and teachers as they get prepared.
