Suzanne's Trek ('cause I can't do a swim!)

My Expedition

Starting from Saturday 9th May, I will attempt to walk the distance equivalent to walking around Lake Atitlán (82km), Guatemala. I hope to complete it in a week.

I had planned to make a swim crossing of the lake this year, but things have changed! Instead, I'll be walking in Devon, and raising money for those affected by the coronavirus and lockdown in Guatemala as well as other countries in Latin America.

Money raised from this expedition will go towards projects like AMI San Lucas in Guatemala, that are providing essential food parcels for families whose livelihoods are under threat because of national lockdowns and curfews. And projects across Colombia that are providing shelter to Venezuelan migrants who can no longer work and are faced with homelessness.

You can learn more about the projects I'm supporting here.

Can you help by sponsoring me to complete this challenge?

  • By giving £10, you could help cover the increasingly expensive cost of food, masks, cleaning materials and basic medicine for a homeless person in Guatemala city.
  • A gift of £20 could supply a family of 5 in Guatemala with enough food to last 10 days.
  • And a £60 gift could provide a migrant family in Colombia with basic shelter and security for a whole month.

Any donation you can afford will make a huge difference.

Thank you
