About STEP mission teams

Step is our short-term team programme seeking to share the love of Christ in Latin America. Each team unites passionate Christians, excited to dedicating their spring or summer to volunteering in a community-based project in one of our partner countries.  Over 40 years, Step teams have been welcomed into our international community to witness and participate in Jesus’ kingdom building in Latin America.
Step is the perfect opportunity for your gap year, sabbatical, holidays, or career break! Our longer 4-month Spring Step is an immersive chance to serve in two distinct locations in Latin America, while our 4-week Summer Step lets you fit an exciting mission trip into your summer break.
We also offer the opportunity for you to take a team from your church or CU – get in touch to find out more!

What do teams do?

On Step, we value holistic mission: we believe that sharing the gospel means addressing both practical and spiritual needs. This usually means getting involved in a range of ministries such as:
  • A hands-on construction project
  • Sport and games
  • Supporting a local church
  • Feeding programmes
  • Evangelism
  • Teaching English
  • Drama, arts and crafts
  • Children’s and youth ministry
  • Women’s groups
To name just a few!
